I'm really not sure why, but I suddenly (at 2 o'clock in the morning, no less) have the desire to watch the film, Peggy Sue Got Married.
Does anyone else remember the movie? I don't think it was terribly popular. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
For those who haven't seen it, it came out in 1986 and stars Kathleen Turner (Peggy Sue) and Nicholas Cage (Charlie Bodell). Also appearing in the film are a sea of familiar faces, including; Jim Carrey, Joan Allen, and Catherine Hicks (the mom from "7th Heaven").
At a high school reunion, Peggy Sue faints. When she wakes up, she discovers that she has traveled back in time, to her senior year in high school. From there, she attempts to change her life for the better, given what she knows of the future.
I don't know about any of you guys, but I thought this movie rocked. Sure, there was a romantic element to it. But, I found it hilarious and thought-provoking. What WOULD I do, if I could change the future outcome of my life, knowing then what I know now?
Alas, I cannot find the movie among my vast array of VHS tapes and DVDs. *sigh* But, hope yet remains! Of course, I'll likely have to wait until a time when normal people aren't sleeping and rent the film from a video rental place...
